Cocoplum Contemporary Coral Gables Design

This 4,400-square-foot Coral Gables residence is home to a young family, so naturally our design concept for this partial remodel needed to be about finding the balance in life. Our design intent was to balance impactful design elements, like structural updates and contrasting materials or colors, with pure design elements, such as harmonious fabrics and proportional design. The interior design of this Coral Gables home needed to project balance to provide the young family with not only a peaceful but also a relaxing home they deserve. Inspired by the Florida landscape, a variety of taupes and ocean- inspired blues adorn the home, while warm natural materials contrast crisp white walls throughout.

This partial renovation included updating common areas such as the living room, dining room, family room, and kitchen with some architectural elements. In the living room we made the fireplace stand out by installing a book matched marble slab, while the dining room is separated from the living space with a new slatted room divider. In addition to those added architectural details, the DKOR Interiors team provided interior design in Coral Gables that included selecting finishes, materials, furniture, and accessories.

For our interior design team, the guiding light of this interior design in Coral Gables project was to ensure our client had a relaxing and functional home in which their family could grow. A young family needs a timeless design that suits their day-to-day needs so the home makes their lives easier and they don’t have to worry about a thing design-wise.
