This golf simulator and arcade lounge is part of an 8,100-square-foot renovation in a Venetian Islands home in Miami Beach, built around a concept we call SoirƩe. This concept represents an elegant gathering that reflects intimacy and sophistication, designed for a young couple who moved from New York and wanted a home built for hosting. This room stands out as one of the clearest examples of that idea in action.
The groundwork nobody sees
A golf simulator room design isn’t a decorating decision, it’s a technical one. Alongside 518 Construction, our general contractor, we brought in a home entertainment specialist, Foresight Sports, and worked in sync with them from the start, walking them through the room’s layout and the thinking behind it, so the technical side could support the design instead of working against it. That coordination is what made the idea viable in the first place.Ā
A room with two moods
SoirĆ©e was never meant to describe just one kind of night, so the room was designed to hold two. A large pop-art arcade cabinet anchors one wall, lit by a neon “Game Over” sign and covered in comic-style characters, playful and a little loud, facing the simulator screen on the other side, more focused and competitive. Overhead, a wood-slat ceiling inspired by the architecture of the home runs the length of the room, with lighting built in, and dark panel walls close the space off from the rest of the house on purpose, so whichever mood takes over for the night, the room holds it like its own hideaway.Ā

Directly across sits the simulator screen, offering a more focused and competitive atmosphere. Overhead, a wood-slat ceiling inspired by the home’s architecture runs the full length of the room with integrated lighting. Additionally, dark panel walls close the space off from the rest of the house intentionally. Therefore, whichever mood takes over for the night, the room holds it securely like its own private hideaway.
Furniture Built With Both Moods in Mind

Every piece of furniture in the room had to withstand that same duality. Specifically, we partnered with Casa Dio on a custom sofa upholstered in a stain-resistant fabric. We chose this material intentionally so the same seating could easily handle the family’s kids on an ordinary afternoon and a full house of guests on a lively night, without ever requiring delicate care.
A short walk connects the room directly to the bar through a fluted glass door, keeping it part of the same continuous evening instead of feeling like an isolated stop. None of these elementsāthe technical work, the dual moods, or the custom furnitureācould stand successfully on their own. Together, they ensure this room feels completely connected to the rest of the house rather than an awkward add-on.
The room opens directly off the bar through a fluted glass door, so stepping in for a round of golf never means leaving the party. Each part of this room, from the technical setup to the furniture, depends on the others, and together they keep it connected to the rest of the house.

Common questions about designing a Golf Simulator RoomĀ
What does a golf simulator room need beyond the simulator itself?
A golf simulator room needs more than the screen and swing space. In this project, that meant bringing in an outside specialist to handle the technical setup and calibration, working closely with our design team so the room’s layout and finishes could come together around it, not against it.Ā
How do you design one room to work for two different kinds of entertaining?
By giving each mood its own anchor within the same space. In this room, a golf simulator sits across from a pop-art arcade cabinet, with materials like a wood-slat ceiling and dark paneling that hold both moods together instead of favoring one over the other.Ā
