Classic interiors often have a reputation for feeling formal or predictable. However, modern transitional interior design offers a fresh and balanced path forward. This popular style sits perfectly between traditional and contemporary design. Specifically, it preserves classic architectural details like moldings and custom millwork while simplifying furniture lines so the space feels light and current.
Furthermore, finding that exact balance requires a careful design eye. Our team brought this refined approach to a 3,820-square-foot renovation at the Bellini in Bal Harbour. As a result, the home feels timelessly classic without ever feeling dull or heavy.

Classic Bones
The traditional influence lives mainly in the architecture of each room. For instance, crisp white cabinetry with molded panel doors lines the living room wall. In addition, custom millwork shapes both the primary living space and the master bedroom. To create warmth, each of those key spaces is anchored by an elegant fireplace. In one bedroom, textured wallpaper framed neatly in decorative moldings becomes a striking architectural feature.

Clean Lines
To keep the home feeling airy, everything surrounding those architectural details remains sleek and clean. Specifically, the furniture features simple, straight silhouettes that balance the decorative millwork. Moreover, long linear fireplaces accentuate horizontal lines throughout the main rooms. Above the dining table, a crystal chandelier feels classic and contemporary at once.
Consequently, the entire color palette feels closely connected to the ocean views outside. A refined base of warm whites, natural wood, and beige is complemented by soft blues and muted greens. This thoughtful palette reinforces the essence of modern transitional interior design across every room.

Rooms With a Personality of Their Own
A classic design scheme does not mean every room must look identical. For example, one guest bathroom steps boldly into deep teal with a custom arched shower. Meanwhile, one bedroom leans into rich texture with a navy velvet headboard. Each space maintains its distinct personality while the millwork and color palette keep the whole home unified.
Thatās the balance we look for in high end interior design: classic enough to feel timeless, with enough personality to feel like home. Take a closer look at this oceanfront condo remodel, explore our guide to transitional interior design, or start a conversation with our design team.Ā
