One of our most recent in-progress design projects is a stunning 5,000 square foot condo at The Estates at Acqualina. With a contemporary aesthetic and large light-filled rooms, our team was thrilled to create a custom plan that would highlight the personalities of our clients, a couple originally from Colombia who moved to Miami years ago.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\t

As art collectors, our clients for this project know better than most that home is where the art is. The design of this new residence features a design that is crafted around our client\u2019s favorite art pieces. It will allow interaction while still being cohesive with the luxurious feel of The Estates at Acqualina property<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The art informed numerous choices regarding color selections, furniture layouts, and materials as well as custom carpentry. With the theme of \u201can interpretation of art through light,\u201d the works are placed so as to best catch the natural sunlight that streams through the beachfront property<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\t

To minimize distracting from the artwork, our South Florida designers chose a neutral grey color palette with a touch of petrol blue and some camels. Additionally, the carpentry is neutral and light. The furniture, materials, and patterns are understated and elegant.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Streamlined and clean, the living room in their condo at The Estates at Acqualina is gorgeously appointed with numerous built-ins made with reflective metals, marble, and light wood. There is ample storage, both exposed and hidden to showcase personal items or store books. The black track lighting overhead is similar to what you would find in a contemporary art gallery, allowing us to play with spotlights.<\/p>\n

Of course, the main attraction is the colorful KAWS sculpture, which we highlighted by building a custom marble shelf\/plinth. While everything else in the room is clean and minimal, this artwork is bold, bright and fun. It adds a bit of playfulness to the serene space.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

If you change your perspective slightly, you\u2019ll see that this living space is a combination sitting and dining room with a large table that seats ten. This room is going to be ideal for entertaining, bringing together the beautiful views of the ocean with some remarkable works of art. In addition to the KAWS sculpture, you\u2019ll notice three other works that add color and an imaginative element. A work of stacked rocks by Ugo Rondinone is displayed next to a panda sculpture. A large figurative painting hangs above the sideboard, bringing a happy, carefree overall impression to the room.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

All you need is love \u2013 and art! This family room features a petrol blue sofa with a large, built-in TV and a hidden desk tucked into the corner. The paneling along the wall adds texture, as does the soft fuzzy rug which keeps feet warm on the marble floors. You\u2019re encouraged to look up to take in the unusual chandelier hanging from the recessed ceiling. The paper motif nods to the room being a space for both work and play.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

Keeping the foundational design of this condo minimal allowed us to really play up the couple\u2019s art collection. In addition, let us highlight their personalities. The beauty of the oceanfront setting and the fun works of contemporary art make a special combination.\u00a0 This home is going to impress all who visit!
