Though it\u2019s not a complete overhaul, the DKOR Interiors team is adding some interior architectural details to the existing common areas, like a bookmatched<\/a> Neolith\u00a0calacatta slab on the living room fireplace and a room divider made of wooden slats between the living and dining spaces, to lend a wow-factor this family will love for years to come.<\/p>\n

Design Inspiration<\/h3>\n

We thought balance would be an appropriate design concept for a young growing family\u2014after all isn\u2019t life about finding just the right balance? In our design, we\u2019re balancing the impactful (structure and contrast) with the pure (harmonious fabrics and proportional design). You\u2019ll see throughout the three common areas how balance plays into every choice we make\u2014from furniture to wall coverings. But first, let\u2019s take a look at materials and the color palette applied to this\u00a0Contemporary Coral Gables Oasis.<\/p>\n

Notice how the depth of the natural materials, especially the woods used throughout these three home interiors, contrasts the sleekness of crisp walls and polished marble to create harmony in the design. Plush upholstery lends additional softness to the chic and sleek design.<\/p>\n

Continuing the theme of balance, each room has just the right amount of dark and light hues, pulled from our beautiful palette. Timeless sandy hues are accented by an array of blues and sparkling brass, a nod to the sun glinting off the ocean. We\u2019ve limited the presence of blue in each room to impactful pieces, like art, wall coverings, and accent chairs.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s begin our tour with the home\u2019s first impression: the foyer. Slate blue wallpaper from the Kami-Ito Collection by Omexco instantly lends a soothing quality, while the off-center mirror is balanced by a pair of LBL Lighting Mini-Dia pendants<\/a>. The sharp lines of the console table are softened by the upholstered bench tucked underneath, creating a harmonious grouping, where every piece has its purpose.<\/p>\n

Keep going through the foyer and you\u2019ll find the living room, where black windows starkly contrast white walls, yet both are balanced by a plush area rug and textured upholstery on the Cierre Imbottiti Aida Sofa<\/a>. As the room\u2019s focal point, rich wood shelves juxtapose the clean marble fireplace, adding intrigue and drama. Everything in the space comes together to create a relaxed spot for a family to gather.<\/p>\n

Our final stop, the dining room, is back through a newly installed room divider that visually separates the two rooms without actually erecting a wall. In this space, the eye is immediately drawn to the dark dining set and the super cool mid-century-inspired light fixture above it. The rest of the room features pale tones, contrasting the near-black color of the light and dining set. Textural Omexco wallpaper and diaphanous sheer curtains balance the strong, sharp lines of the main furniture pieces, lending lightness to the space.<\/p>\n
