Whether your little athlete has been inspired by the World Cup or has always loved the beautiful game, this sports-themed bedroom is something both a soccer-obsessed kid and a stylish mom (or dad) can agree on. It will have you both shouting, “gooooooaaaal!”

We know parents are always searching for cool bedroom ideas to help update their kids’ spaces as they grow and their interests change, and this is one of our favorites. We gave you a sneak peek of the design intent a few weeks ago, but here’s a quick refresher of what we planned for the room to look like.

It turned out even better than we could have planned! The gray, green, and black color scheme hints at the room’s resident’s love of sports, but it isn’t an overtly sports-themed bedroom at first glance. The larger pieces of the space (bunk beds, desk area, comforters, and lighting) speak to a modern aesthetic that is easily adaptable to another theme whenever the kiddo’s interests change.

It’s only when you see the details that it becomes clear that this room, and this little boy, is all about sports. The plethora of trophies and soccer-themed pillows, which you can find on Society6, drive home the theme behind this bedroom.

We used the family’s existing modern bunk beds. Our design team accented them with gray bedding in an array of shades for a chic monochromatic look. Instead of traditional nightstands with drawers that merely become catchalls for kids’ trinkets, we used a pair of modern side tables and industrial-inspired pharmacy lamps, both from West Elm.

Across from the bunk beds, you can find a workspace. It can be used for homework, or for plotting out their soccer team’s next victory. Creating a built-in like this doesn’t have to cost a lot either. We’ve used Ikea pieces, secured together and to the wall, for a perfectly unique space.

We love this cool bedroom idea as it’s super customizable. We used the Alex set of drawers, the PAX cabinet, and the lack floating shelves to create this workspace.

If you’re more into sports-themed bedroom ideas check out this kids’ bedroom that features a full-scale mural. Don’t worry; it still manages to be mom-approved!

Stay tuned as we’ll be revealing more finished rooms from this modern wonderland home over the next couple of weeks!
