As many modern families are opting for more casual dining spaces, fewer clients opt for formal comedores these days. And so, when we get to design a beautiful dining space for gathering, we love to tap into what will make our clients happiest when they are all together.
For a recent 9,000-square-foot home en Palm Beach Gardens, we used the home’s forest-themed concept for the dining room inspiration as well. Like the rest of the interiors, this room is grounded in earthy neutrals, organic textures, and calming materials. Created in collaboration with Omega Builders and Brenner Architecture Group, this space is filled with natural wood and luxury stone. Soft tones throughout complete the look with warmth and elegance.
Today, we invite you to step into the dining room and discover the details that make it truly one of a kind. Designed with a family of four in mind, this space brings nature indoors, offering a setting that feels both intimate and inspiring. So, let’s take a walk through the forest together and explore how every element tells its own story.
DINING ROOM INSPIRATION
From floor to ceiling, the dining room is wrapped in beautiful, natural materials that give the space a warm and welcoming feel. Just steps from the entry foyer, it’s perfectly positioned to take in views of the windows and the nature outside. It opens easily to the great room so you still feel connected, yet the thoughtful design keeps it cozy and private when you gather around the table. Let’s explore the three features that make this dining area truly unique. Each one highlights the careful attention given to both style and function.
1) CONNECTED THROUGH DESIGN

From this angle in the dining room, you can appreciate the first design feature, the natural wood screen wall from the foyer that extends into the space. It echoes the same welcoming elements you notice as you first step inside. Keep reading to see it from that perspective and discover how these details come together so beautifully that our designers chose to highlight them as a feature for both areas.

And here it is, the feature we’ve been talking about! As you step into the home, a striking combination of beams and stone columns welcomes you, anchored by a double-sided mirror at the center. The look feels earthy, grounded, and beautifully layered, perfectly reflecting the forest-inspired design vision that flows throughout the space.
2) WARMTH BETWEEN ROOMS

As you enter the dining area, you pass between two striking design features that frame the space. On one side, the foyer’s shared element sets the stage, the Porcelanosa stone anchoring the entryway with a blend of timeless elegance and contemporary style. On the other, warmth draws you in as the floating open fireplace comes into view, bringing both light and movement to the dining and living areas. Its base, crafted from cool-toned Grey Savoie Opustone, creates a natural balance, echoing the veining of the Porcelanosa and tying the two features together in harmony.
3) A CEILING THAT STEALS THE SHOW

And then there’s the third feature that defines this dining area, the ceiling itself. Far from ordinary, the designers wrapped it in a textured material that begins at the buffet wall and extends upward. Its slate-toned finish is rich with depth and character. It echoes the mood and palette of the large dining table, creating a beautiful sense of continuity.
Looking up, it almost feels like gazing at clouds through the trees, once again tying back to the forest-inspired design. At the same time, the ceiling brings a sense of comfort and coziness, making meals around the table feel sheltered and inviting.
DINING ROOM INSPIRATION WITH DKOR
Designing this forest-inspired dining room was a thoughtful and rewarding process. The designers carefully selected every detail, from the natural textures to the calming neutral palette, to create a sense of elegance. Together, these elements shape a space that feels seamlessly connected to its surroundings. It’s more than just a place to dine; it’s a space where our clients can make memories together.
