As our Key Biscayne interior design project progresses on site, it’s time for our design team to start developing its furniture selections. Before we get started, remember that we always need to refer back to the design concept to ensure we keep the home décor cohesive and all of its layers relate to one another. In our home tour introduction, we walked you through the concept of this luxurious Key Biscayne home and how we used its architecture as inspiration for its interiors to create a cozy contemporary oasis. If you need a concept refresher, don’t forget to check out the inspiration behind our Key Biscayne interior design proyecto.
Let’s start with the outdoors. One design principal we were eager to capture in the furniture selections was the pattern play and rhythm found in nesting. By layering or braiding materials, beautiful patterns form and the Kettals Bitta collection was a perfect beginning in our modern home furnishings selection process. We paired this up with a stunning teak dining table from the luxury outdoor furniture brand, Dedon, both inspirations from our annual visits to iSaloni.

As we begin with our selections for the interior, something important to consider is that this modern home does not have a family room which means the formal living room needs to be comfortable enough for everyday living but elegant enough to host formal gatherings. One high end Italian furniture company that balances both comfort and effortless elegance is Poliform and they had the perfect contemporary round dining table that easily nestled within the contemporary u-shaped staircase. Its marble top added an elegant finish to the space and its round shape made it a bit less formal and inviting for everyday use. We paired them up with Poliform Grace dining chairs upholstered in a charcoal vintage leather and toped it off with another concept inspired lighting selection by Mooi; the Raimond suspension light.

Now last but definitely not least, for our living room selections we curated a few furniture pieces from our favorite Italian brands; Minotti y Gallotti Radice with some accent pieces from the already present Poliform line. If you weren’t familiar with these high-end contemporary furniture lines, we highly recommend you plan a day trip to your local reps to see for yourself the craftsmanship Italy is known for.
