Inspired by a tropical retreat, our latest 7,000-square-foot Bay Harbor Islands residence renovation project was a true joy to bring to life. Today, we’re sharing a peek into one of our favorite spaces, the master bedroom design, which is both a calm and an airy escape, with its own private meditation room.

En colaboración con CH Construcción, we reimagined the space to reflect the warmth and personality of our clients, all while keeping a polished, breezy Miami aesthetic.

The master bedroom design previously was a blank slate, with no personality or style. We decided in our renovation to blend soft neutral tones with layered natural textures to create grounded, luxurious, and peaceful space. It’s a perfect example of how we help transform homes that aren’t quite “you” into spaces that truly feel like home.

A Look Inside the Master Bedroom Design

As you can see, this master suite design is all about comfort and flow. There is plenty of soft seating and gentle curves seen in everything from the sofa to the ottoman. Even the light fixture echoes the organic movement of water.

We love the large windows in this room, which allow the stunning outdoor Miami views to blend beautifully with the room’s sandy tones. A plush, textured carpet adds another layer of coziness, grounding the room in comfort.

To balance the curves, we included many vertical lines in this design, like the distinctive wall treatment and the floor-to-ceiling draperies. These elements create a sense of height throughout the room. The natural stone wrap around the bed creates a striking headboard that adds another organic touch. Finally, a velvet sage blanket draped across the bed provides a soft pop of color, bringing a contrast to the otherwise neutral palette.

Where is your eye drawn? For us, it’s the cloud-like, organic pendant lights that bring us to the bedside, echoing the vertical lines of the wall treatment and creating a sense of height. This is a subtle design trick that makes the space feel more expansive and airy.

And because comfort is always a top priority, we layered the bed with pillows so that our clients can sink into a plush retreat after a long day.

Before: Existing Conditions

If you’re curious, here’s a look at the room before the master bedroom design transformation. It’s an empty canvas full of potential, right? While we kept the windows to take advantage of the natural light and views, much of the space needed a creative reimagining.

Master Bedroom Interior Details

Across from the bed, this cozy sitting area is one of our favorite features in this master bedroom design. We added built-in bookshelves to create special alcoves to showcase the family’s favorite pieces, giving the space a personal touch

We also incorporated several floating features, from the mounted TV to the cabinets and artwork. This keeps the room feeling light, airy, and elevated. While it feels almost like a separate lounge, this space still provides a perfect view of the TV from bed.

Meditation Room Within the Bedroom

What could be more peaceful than a personal meditation room? Off the master bedroom, we designed a secret space that allows our clients to have a moment of pause.

A key feature in this room is the wood panel wrap that flows from the ceiling to the surrounding walls. We also designed custom shelving to display candles and meditation objects to aid in relaxation. Finally, we added meditation cushions to the center of the space in turquoise green tones that coordinate with the sage in the master bedroom design.

Overall, we created a bedroom for our client that they didn’t even know they needed, one that perfectly fits their lifestyle and enhances their experience of living in Miami. Every detail of this master suite was designed with intention. This project reflects our passion for creating spaces that are not only beautiful but deeply personal.
