Artistry is in everything we do. Sometimes, it is even more apparent when we’re working with art collector clients. We previously shared the plans for a 5,000-square-foot condo at The Estates at Acqualina. Today, we’re excited to reveal how we brought our artistic vision to life!

Our vision for this oceanfront condo was to keep the design foundation neutral to let our clients’ artwork shine. For that reason, the chosen design elements encourage interaction with the artwork, from the furniture placement to the custom carpentry. Following the theme of “an interpretation of art through light,” the art is situated in places where it receives maximum natural light.

Let’s explore each room of this Estates at Acqualina condo together!

The Designs at an Estate at Acqualina Condo

Living Room

To create both the most open and airy space possible, we designed the living room with an open-plan layout that includes a dining area. In this shared space, we used a gray palette together with warm, earthy neutrals.

Subtle pops of color are introduced in the petrol blue and brown accent pillows and accessories. Given the overall muted scheme, texture also plays an important role. The upholstery of the sofa, dining chairs, and mixed stone elements add not only depth but also interest.

Our client’s art collection also included smaller sculpture pieces. With this in mind, we designed custom display shelving. The sleek built-ins in this room hold a special spot for every piece of art. From this vantage point, you can see the variety of both materials and colors. You’ll also notice a repetition of rounded forms in the room, which softens the vertical lines of the shelving. This includes pieces such as the marble table, loveseat, and side table.

Dining Room

Next, step into the dining space. It is a bright and airy haven featuring reflective surfaces, glass, and light neutrals. While the ocean views are the focal point, you can’t miss the statement bubble chandelier above the large dining table. It is so light and airy that it almost blends into the clouds outside.

But of course, the eye is also drawn to the sculpture by Alejandro Cardenas, which greets guests from the corner. During the day, you can witness the interplay between the light from the windows and the artwork. The shadow from the sculpture is cast on the tile floor, creating a visually engaging reflection.

Kitchen

KITCHEN DESIGN
Kitchens

The light-filled kitchen was pre-existing with a fresh white foundation punctuated by contemporary accents. The statement stone on the kitchen island, brown bar chairs, and artistic pendant lights coordinate well with our design for the living room. We decided to add custom glass cabinetry doors to parallel the large windows, contributing to the open feeling throughout this oceanfront condo.

How stunning is this view? When you’re in a place as beautiful as the Estates at Acqualina, you need to play up the surroundings! Wherever our clients are in their condo, they can appreciate their ocean views. As in the living room, you can see how the light and shadows bounce off the different surfaces in this room. We wanted every room to feel experiential and special.

Family Room

Heading into the family room, you’ll notice the same base notes of gray and white, with a few tweaks. Mainly, the multicolored artworks make the room more playful!

As this is a space that is intended for privacy, rather than entertaining, we wanted it to be relaxed. The petrol blue sofa and soft rug add to the inviting atmosphere.

There are still upscale elements like the marble shelf below the mounted TV and unique textured wall paneling. However, the overall feel is more casual.

Tucked into a corner of this room is a hidden workspace with a small desk for our clients. At the end of the day, this room is intended for both work and play. It’s a quiet retreat for our clients to watch TV, read, or catch up on emails.

Balcony

Finally, we designed this beautiful outdoor balcony for our clients to dine while enjoying the views. This space features a small round dining table coupled with padded chairs for al fresco meals.

There’s also an extra cozy armchair and nesting tables that are perfect for reading. To keep the design of this outdoor space cohesive with the interiors, we used the same blue, brown, and gray tones as well as curved elements.

We love combining the beauty of a location like the Estates at Acqualina with the personal interests of our clients. This oceanfront condo is a special mix of nature and culture that we hope our clients will enjoy for many years.
