GIRLS’ SHARED BEDROOM LAYOUT WITH DEFINED ZONES

When exploring shared bedroom ideas for small rooms, creating a dedicated area for each child is crucial. Not only does it provide a place for each child to engage in their own activities, but it also fosters a sense of individuality in a shared environment. They will certainly appreciate the comfort of having their own space within the room.

In this shared girls’ bedroom design, our team’s primary goal was to create distinct spaces for each child. For that reason, we define clear zones within the room. To achieve this, we installed a bookshelf in the center of the room to visually separate each area, giving each child their own personal space.

Although the decor elements are cohesive, each child’s area is specifically their own. We also added a fun wallpaper that reflects the vibrant personalities of both girls, creating an inspiring shared environment for them.

SHARED BOYS’ BEDROOM WITH UNIFIED WALLPAPER

Now, let’s turn to this sailing and sports inspired design for the two little boys in this family. This boys’ bedroom features a color scheme of both weathered woods and shades of blue, which are reflected in the accessories and textured materials throughout the room.

The wallpaper that covers the headboard wall unifies the space, making it feel cohesive. To differentiate the area for each child, we added a shelf above each bed, adorned not only with different graphics but also with quotes that resonate with each boy.

Due to the limited space, instead of adding two nightstands, we incorporated a wider option that provides a storage solution while also separating the areas.

MATCHING MATCHING

Because kids often like to share the same style as their siblings, in this lovely girls’ room, we went all in with matching decor. The girls, who are close in age, both love the color pink, so we created a light and bright bedroom for them to enjoy during their vacations in Florida.

While the girls have identical furniture, accessories, and bedding, personal touches make all the difference. Small details, such as unique stuffed animals and textured pillows, are added to each bed to reflect their individual personalities and make each space feel uniquely their own.

FACING BEDS IN A KIDS’ SHARED BEDROOM IDEA

The creative placement of the beds can make a shared bedroom feel different from the usual layout. In this design, we positioned the beds against opposite walls while planning the space. Not only is this a more imaginative approach, but it also creates more space between the beds.

The green color-blocking section on the wall visually unifies both beds, resulting in a connected and cohesive look. Instead of a traditional nightstand, we installed a fun yellow light fixture in the center to divide the space.

By placing the beds on opposite sides of the room, we were able to create a custom storage solution that spans wall to wall, providing enough space for all the kids’ possessions.

A BALANCED AND TAILORED SHARED BEDROOM IDEA

Although this room is shared, it was designed to not feel that way. The design team divided the space to create two identical bedroom layouts within it.

Each side mirrors the other, including a desk area for homework or crafts, storage for personal belongings, and views from the windows to enjoy. As you can see, the different colors in the accessories like the table lamps, chairs, and pillows give each child their own way to personalize the space.

The result is a shared room that feels special and personal to both children. With this fun and practical design, everyone gets their own space to relax, play, and be themselves.

BUNK BEDS FOR A SHARED BEDROOM IN SMALL SPACES

One smart and common solution that many families favor is the use of bunk beds in shared rooms for two or more kids. There’s something extra special about bunk beds when you’re a kid! It’s a clever way to maximize floor space and take advantage of vertical space.

In this room, by installing bunk beds with a capacity for four, the free floor space is larger, providing enough room for the kids to play and have a dedicated area to study or finish their homework.
